Renowned illustrator and artist, Charmaine Ledden-Lewis (Charlie’s Swim), shares her love for stories and highlights the powerful relationship between images, words and our imagination. A proud Bundjalung woman, living on Dharug & Gundungurra Country in the Blue Mountains, Charmaine is inspired by the rich and ancient tradition of storytelling shared throughout this vast continent. Having collaborated with some great Australian authors, including Edith Wright, Cathy Freeman and Bruce Pascoe, this promises to be a perfect Family Day opening session as Charmaine celebrates the power of story. Charmaine Ledden-Lewis is a proud Bundjalung woman and award-winning illustrator, residing on Dharug and Gundungurra Country in the Blue Mountains, NSW. Charmaine has collaborated with celebrated authors including Bruce Pascoe, Cathy Freeman, Edith Wright and Dr Anita Heiss, bringing vivid and emotive visual storytelling to each book she creates. Charmaine is passionate about sharing First Nations experiences and perspectives, through the language of art and visual literacy with everyone she meets, and encourages all to transcend inhibition and find their creative outlet.
