Creative non-fiction. What is it? Why write it? Literary journalism, stream-of-consciousness rant, tell-all memoir, discursive essay – creative non-fiction has entered the literary arena as one of the most dynamic forms of contemporary writing. How does the writer negotiate the issue of subjective truth and other people’s privacy. How ‘creative’ can you be before the work becomes fiction? Kim Mahood leads this workshop that discusses these questions and teaches basic self-editing principles.
