Lynne Kelly’s The Memory Code explores powerful memory techniques, including using Aboriginal songlines and methods from non-literate, Graeco-Roman and medieval times. In the past, elders had encyclopaedic memories, but today, we struggle. We don’t sing our science, tell stories about our grammar rules or embed our history in the landscape. Lynne talks about how using ancient memory training techniques improved her own ‘pitiable’ memory, and how she is now able to retain vast amounts of information.
