Join Sydney Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Kip Williams as he announces the winners of the 2018 Patrick White Playwrights Award and Fellowship. Following the announcement, Sydney Theatre Company artists present a rehearsed reading of the award-winning play, directed by Resident Director Jessica Arthur. The Patrick White Playwrights Award was established to support and foster the development of Australian playwrights. The Patrick White Playwrights Fellowship is an honour awarded to an established Australian playwright.

Kip Williams is Artistic Director of Sydney Theatre Company. STC productions include The Harp in the South, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Cloud Nine, Chimerica, and Suddenly Last Summer. Kip has also directed for Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, Sydney Chamber Opera and NIDA. Awards include the 2018 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Direction for The Harp in the South (also Best Mainstage Production), and the 2015 Helpmann Award for Best Direction of a Play for Suddenly Last Summer.
