Donations of $1,000 or more
Our Patrons support the Sydney Writers’ Festival with gifts of $1,000 or more. They play a vital role in the life of our organisation. It is only with their generous support that we can showcase the highest calibre of writers and deliver a world-renowned program of talks and panels.
Our Patrons are passionate supporters of discussion, debate and the exchange of ideas and have a lifelong love of reading.
We hope you will consider joining our Patron Program. In recognition of your generosity, you will access a suite of exclusive benefits. These benefits include a priority ticket booking window, invitations to members-only events and our comfortable, fully catered and much-loved Patron Lounge.
All Patron Program contributions are acknowledged on our website and in our Festival Program. Contributions to our Patron Program include a small membership fee and GST. The remaining majority of the gift is fully tax deductible.

Donations between $2–999
A gift of any size makes a huge difference to us. We are so grateful to those supporters who top up their ticket purchase and give what they can to help us bring the greatest writers and thinkers to the Festival, providing cultural nourishment and educational opportunities.
Donations between $2–999 are fully tax-deductible with receipt.
Supporting communities through the wonder of stories
We are so grateful for the support of generous donors that allow us to offer a wide range of different initiatives that connect our communities to writers, thinkers, illustrators and stories that enrich, embolden and inspire.
Russ the Story Bus, part of our Children’s Festival of Moving Stories, is one such initiative that brings children’s authors and illustrators to almost 9,000 students throughout Greater Sydney and regional NSW over eight weeks. Children enjoy an interactive talk and get to choose a book of their very own to keep.
And it’s all free for every school we visit, thanks to the support of our donors.
