Jakelin Troy is Ngarigu of the Snowy Mountains, south eastern Australia. She is Professor, Director, Indigenous Research, at The University of Sydney. Her research includes Australian languages, particularly those of the south east and she is best known for her work in supporting the renewal of the Aboriginal language of Sydney. Currently she is working with members of her own community to renew Ngarigu. She is also developing research projects with the Torwali community in Swat, North Pakistan.
