Katharine Murphy is Guardian Australia’s political editor. She’s worked in the parliamentary press gallery since 1996 for The Australian Financial Review, The Australian and The Age. A winner of the Paul Lyneham Award for Excellence in Press Gallery Journalism, and a two time Walkley finalist, she is also a director of the National Press Club, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Journalism at the University of Canberra and Deakin University. Katharine pioneered live blogging in the Australian parliament, and is the host of a weekly political podcast for Guardian Australia. She is the author of On Disruption.
